Position Summary:
This part-time (less than 20 hours/week), as-needed position reports to the Senior Director of Programs. This position provides a variety of advanced administrative functions that directs and supports critical agency child placement services in the Infant Adoption Program and the Flexible Families Program. The Homestudy Caseworker is responsible for coordinating significant aspects of the SAFE Home Study and initial assessment. In addition, the Homestudy Caseworker must maintain up-to-date awareness of all IAP/FF policies and procedures and may have some participation in State audits. The Homestudy Caseworker will work closely with the Senior Director of Programs and IAP Program Manager, to maintain licensing standards (in regards to homestudies) as set forth by the State of Colorado.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Complete all family evaluations with a minimum of 3 joint visits in the clients’ home and conduct individual interviews with each applicant. Complete the assessment in the SAFE format.
- Prepare written family assessment and present to the Placement Supervisor in a timely manner
- Maintain up-to-date and thorough client files both through the electronic records system and the hard file as required by state regulations to be transferred to the on-going caseworker
- As scheduled by the Senior Director of Programs, attend full staff meetings, adoption caseworker trainings and agency retreats
- Work in a collaborative and supportive manner with all agency staff members and volunteers
- Represent the Agency mission, values, and program goals and objectives at all functions within and outside of the agency
- Perform other duties and tasks as directed

- As required by state and county regulations, must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at least 2 weeks prior to start date, and maintain current recommended boosters. (Candidates seeking and exemption from this requirement for medical or religious reasons must contact the HR Director.)
- BA, BS, or BSW in the social or behavioral sciences, preferably a Master’s degree in one of these fields
- A minimum of three years in child welfare as a caseworker
- Must possess exceptional interpersonal, presentation, time management and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
- Be trained and certified in SAFE (structured analysis family evaluation) process
- Consistently demonstrate an ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet the current needs of the agency, such as reprioritizing work as necessary
- Working knowledge of a variety of computer software applications including, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Adhere to agency internal and external confidentiality requirements
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to responsibilities
- Display a willingness to make decisions, exhibit sound and accurate judgment, support and explain rationale for decisions
- Treat co-workers, clients, and volunteers with respect, inspire trust of others, work with integrity and conduct all business within the ethical standards of the agency
- Meet the attendance requirements of the job, including weekends and evenings as directed
- Must have access to reliable transportation and possess a valid unrestricted driver’s license and current car insurance as frequent local travel will be required
- Work within approved budgets as established by the Executive Director
- Post hire-demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of agency policies and procedures

- Intermittent physical activity including bending, reaching and prolonged periods of sitting

- Ability to safely and efficiently operate a motor vehicle
