A PARTNERSHIP FOR TOMORROW

Fostering Healthy Futures

Adoption Options partnered with The Kempe Center and Lutheran Family services to expand the Fostering Healthy Futures Programs. These are evidence-based mentoring and skills training programs for youth and adolescents with child welfare involvement. The end goal is to empower these youth, promote healthy development, and improve their outcomes.

In 2024, Adoption Options will serve 24 youth ages 9-11 through the Fostering Healthy Futures for Preteens Program. Through extensive research and evaluation, Fostering Healthy Futures for Preteens has been proven to have positive impacts related to:
  • Better mental health functioning
  • Fewer trauma symptoms
  • Less mental health treatment
  • Lower rates of suicidality
  • Less delinquency and involvement in the juvenile justice system
  • Higher rates of permanency
  • Fewer placement changes
  • Less residential treatment
  • Higher quality of life

Adoption Options will also service 18 teens through the Fostering Healthy Futures for Teens program in 2024. Research on the Fostering Healthy Futures for Teens program is ongoing, but preliminary outcomes suggest the program:
  • Reduces delinquency and juvenile justice involvement
  • Increases permanency
