Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Director of Programs, the Flexible Families Certification Worker provides a variety of advanced administrative functions that support critical agency child placement services in the Flexible Families program. The Certification Worker is responsible for the coordination of significant aspects of the foster care and adoption program, including but not limited to the retention of Flexible Families, family education and training, scheduling and completion of home assessments, and updates. In addition, the Certification Worker must maintain up-to-date awareness of all foster care policies and procedures and participate in all State foster care audits. The Certification Worker will also work closely with the Senior Director of Programs to maintain foster care licensing standards set forth by the State of Colorado.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities
- Work with all program families once past the initial home study approval on a consistent basis to update expiring/changing items for their file
- Complete as scheduled all annual family updates and/or renewals with current documentation to maintain compliance and licensure
- Complete all family evaluations with a minimum of 3 joint visits and conduct individual interviews with each applicant and individual interviews with all children in the home as assigned
- Prepare written family assessments using SAFE (structured analysis family evaluation) and present to the Placement Supervisor in a timely manner
- Work closely with the Senior Director of Programs to ensure compliance for all current/returning families in the Flexible Families Program
- Coordinating closely with caseworkers to schedule initial and annual licensing details and documentation
- Work to support and retain foster-to-adopt families (connecting with trainings, support groups, resource building, keeping families engaged with the program as appropriate, etc.)
- Assist in the education and training of foster families as assigned
- Prepare, complete, and distribute all certification documentation
- Provide post-placement supervision for families as needed
- Work in partnership and maintain relationships with other agencies regarding children's placement needs
- Advocate for Flexible Families during the placement of children, including licensing support, and provide placement/post-placement support and services
- Complete all ICPC documentation as required
- Actively pursue personal developmental opportunities to enhance overall competencies and skill set
- Work within the TRAILS system
- Work extensively within the agency's online document management system
- Must be able to perform "on-call" services as required
Position Requirements
The position requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications, knowledge, skills, and/or ability required:
- As required by state regulations, must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at least 2 weeks prior to start date and maintain currently recommended boosters. (Candidates seeking an exemption from this requirement for medical or religious reasons must contact the HR Director.)
- BA, BS, or BSW in the social or behavioral science
- A minimum of two years experience in child welfare setting
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred
- Must possess exceptional interpersonal, organizational, planning, and time management abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
- Be trained and certified in SAFE (structured analysis family evaluation) process or obtain SAFE certification as soon as practical post-hire
- An analytical ability is required in order to gather and summarize data for reports and find solutions to a variety of client and agency-related situations
- Consistently demonstrate an ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner to meet the current needs of the agency, such as reprioritizing work as necessary
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to responsibilities
- Display a willingness to make decisions, exhibit sound and accurate judgment, support and explain rationale for decisions, include appropriate individuals in the decision-making process, and make decisions in a timely fashion
- Meet the attendance requirements of the job, including weekends and evenings as directed
- Must have access to reliable transportation and possess a valid unrestricted driver's license. Must have proof of 100/300/100 current car insurance on any vehicles driven for the agency as frequent local travel will be required, overnight travel possible.

- Intermittent physical activity, including bending, reaching, and prolonged periods of sitting

- Required to work extended periods of time at a video display terminal with ongoing keyboard data entry
- Ability to safely and efficiently operate a motor vehicle
- Vision adequate to read correspondence, computer screen, forms, etc.
