Adoption Options is an inclusive, non-profit adoption agency dedicated to enriching the lives of children, youth and families. Within Adoption Options, the Fostering Healthy Futures® program is an evidence-based, intensive preventive intervention for preadolescent children (ages 9-11) with one or more Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), which may include the experience of maltreatment, out-of-home placement, housing instability, violence exposure and/or parental substance use, mental illness, or incarceration. FHF is a newly implemented program within Adoption Options and is in partnership with several other community organizations. This role requires a high degree of flexibility, creative thinking, collaboration, and communication with all stakeholders to ensure ongoing success and program growth.
Position Summary:
Open to all students, a good fit for first year graduate students or first clinical experience

Position Summary:

- Serve as mentors to children (ages 9-11) who have current or previous child welfare involvement due to one or more adverse childhood experiences
- Weekly one-on-one mentoring visits (2-3 hours per child, paired with 2 youth)
- Transportation to/from weekly skills group (2-3 hours total)
- Requires evening availability on Tuesdays or Wednesdays from 4pm to 8pm
- May require some weekends to conduct individual 2-3 hour visits with youth and families
