Tell Me About Birth Parents

Birthparents are the biological parents of the child.

What brings birthparents to consider adoption? There are many reasons birthparents consider adoption, but all focus on the needs of the child and the birthparents' belief that they cannot adequately meet these needs. Sometimes, birthparents consider this choice during pregnancy, while others may not consider this plan until after the child is born. Sometimes birthparents consider adoption because they realize, after parenting for a while, that their child needs more than they can provide.

Birthparents come from all walks of life, they range in age from young adolescents to mature adults. They come from a variety of religious and non-religious backgrounds, from all ethnicities and races, and incorporate a broad range of lifestyles. Birthparents are as different from one another as any group of people - what characterizes them is their loving and unselfish decision to consider the needs of their child beyond their own needs.
